Toya D. Everett
Vice president, Strategy & business alignment
Toya is responsible for spearheading the execution of the CEO’s vision. She leads the development and management of the overall company strategy and guides planning to drive company growth and operational success. Toya drives alignment across all business functions to achieve operational efficiencies that yield increased organizational capacity and scalability. Toya is also responsible for media relations, brand management, partnerships, and philanthropy.
Toya served as D.A. Everett’s (DAE) Executive Board Member and executive advisor to the president & CEO. In this capacity, Toya was instrumental in the development of DAE’s overall business strategy, increasing brand visibility and company recognition, as well DAE becoming more strategic in its corporate partnerships and community impact.
Toya has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, most recently as a global leader at CBRE where she started in Global Workplace Solutions supporting the Bank of America and UPS accounts, before transitioning over to Corporate Functions. She has a strong business acumen, experienced in strategy development and operational excellence, and has been recognized for building and leading high performing teams. Over her career, Toya managed operational, contractual, and vendor risk, implemented and managed $120M+ savings programs within facilities management, and built out and led global operations. Toya has managed client relationships with Fortune 500 companies and worked closely with c-suite and business executives to successfully develop global business strategies. She has worked with global heads of business functions (HR, Talent, Legal, Communications, Digital & Technology, etc.) to lead the implementation of cross-functional strategic initiatives.
Toya has a proven track record in increasing diversity within the commercial real estate industry and driving inclusion. She was a trailblazer in partnering with national organizations, such as Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), Forage, and Project Destined, to create internship and commercial real estate immersion programs designed to provide industry knowledge and increase exposure of diverse individuals to the industry and various career paths - exposing nearly one thousand individuals.
Toya is a servant leader. She is heavily involved in the Charlotte community where she is engaged in economic development initiatives and has launched programs that provide development to Charlotte’s small and diverse business owners. Toya has served on a host of boards and steering committees: CoreNet Carolinas Board, LIFESPAN Services Board, President of the Charlotte Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, Charlotte Post Foundation Board, Johnson C. Smith University Department of Business Administration Advisory Board, City of Charlotte – Office of Economic Development Capacity Building Partner Committee, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Business & Leadership Symposium Steering Committee, Women’s Business Center of Charlotte Heart of a Woman Conference Steering Committee, Career Mastered Magazine North Carolina Advisory Council and Career Mastered Leadership in Action Awards & Symposium Steering Committee, Black Enterprise Magazine Entrepreneurs Summit Steering Committee, KIPP Charlotte College Send-Off Host Committee, and Jazzy Holiday Gala Fundraising Host Committee – Harvey B. Gantt Center. Toya has been recognized for her leadership and impact in the Charlotte community and is a sought-after speaker, presenter, and moderator.
Toya earned her B.A. in Communication from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Queens University – McColl School of Business, Charlotte, NC. Toya currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
