LATOYA D. EVERETT, VICE PRESIDENT – RISK MANAGEMENT & COMMUNITY RELATIONS- LaToya has over 15 years of experience in Commercial General Liability and Risk Management. Her areas of expertise ranges from analyzing and enforcing contractual obligations, investigating and mitigating losses, risk identification and assessment, and litigation management.

Like Donovan, President & Chief Executive Officer, she too, at an early age, began her first job working for their father – the owner of a Beaufort, North Carolina – based general contracting firm. At that early age, LaToya gained knowledge about the construction business, which has been a tremendous asset as she has been able to draw upon that knowledge and exposure throughout the course of her career in Commercial GL and Risk.

LaToya is efficient, thorough, and results-driven. She is experienced at client relationship and vendor management. With excellence and professionalism, throughout the course of her career, she has serviced diverse clientele who are leading in their industries. LaToya is effective at working cross-functions with internal and external business partners. She is equally as effective contributing to team growth and overall company success.

As the leader of Risk Management and Community Relations, LaToya is responsible for the development and implementation of risk management strategies and processes. She is also responsible for leading a business approach that creates long-term company and employee value built around the organization’s social platform and supporting D.A. Everett Construction Group’s mission, vision, and values.

LaToya has served over a dozen non-profits advancing their missions of raising awareness and tackling issues from developmental disabilities, domestic and gang violence, to adult educational services.

LaToya holds a B.A. in Communication from North Carolina State University. She currently holds adjusters licenses in NC, SC, GA, FL TX, OK, and MN. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Queens University – McColl School of Business – of Charlotte, NC. She is a member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, Risk and Insurance Management Society – Carolinas Chapter, Project Management Institute – Metrolina Chapter, United Way of Central Carolinas Young Leaders, and the National Black MBA Association – Charlotte Chapter.
